Devil's Breath
Lots of bad things had happened to New York city, but nothing had been as bad as Devil’s Breath. Hopefully, nothing so bad will ever happen to it again. It spread like wildfire, in a swift, unexpected attack on the whole city. Within a day all exits had shut down, military forces were enforcing quarantine and hospitals and charities filled up to their maximum capacity. People were divided on who was to blame - the major? The demons? Spider-Man? - even though everyone agreed that the crazed bald guy with the metallic tentacles needed to be punished, and that a cure was needed as soon as possible. As if things weren’t bad enough, all prison inmates had broken loose and taken over parts of the city, making it a war-zone where military, police, criminals and super-powered individuals all fought each other. It was chaos. Some might even have thought it the end of New York. Yet here I am, writing this from a cafe in 5th avenue. We survived, thanks, mostly, to Spider-Man taking down the guy
